Canada’s leading sponsorship study reveals top trends

publication date: Sep 22, 2011
For the last five years, the Canadian Sponsorship Landscape Study has analyzed the most comprehensive information on the scope, scale and trends of Canada's sponsorship industry. Co-presented by the Sponsorship Marketing Council of Canada and the Canadian Sponsorship Forum, with research supported by IMI International, the University of Ottawa and TrojanOne, the fifth annual study  drew over 400 responses and revealed 18 key trends.

Among the highlights:
  • The impact from the 2010 Olympic Games is over.
  • The activation ratio declined in 2010.
  • Evaluation declined in 2010.
  • alue-in-kind sponsorship declined in 2010.
  • Sponsors continue to be underserviced by properties.
  • Sponsors look for perception, value and alignment when renewing sponsorships.
  • The overall size of the sponsorship industry in Canada is growing.
Initial data for the fifth annual CSLS was released earlier this year. A final report is now available to all interested stakeholders.
