James TempleOpen call for Canadian charities to apply for financial grants to support professional development opportunities

The PwC Canada Foundation has launched a six-week call for submissions for its Leadership Grants Program; a program that provides up to $275,000 in grants to leaders at small to medium-sized registered charitable organizations in Canada looking to fund professional development opportunities.

Submissions for 2014 will be accepted from September 14, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. EST until October 30, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. EST.

Grants are made available in two categories:

·        Individual Leadership Grants (value $2,500) – to be used by individual staff members or volunteers for professional development opportunities of their own design.

·        Team Leadership Grants (value $5,000) - to be used by teams of two or more staff members and/or volunteers (including the applicant) for professional development opportunities of their own design.

Applicants should visit www.pwc.com/ca/grants, review all eligibility criteria and click on the link provided to fill out the online application form before the deadline on October 30, 2014.

The program has been designed in a way that gives charities the flexibility to take advantage of a development opportunity that best meets their needs. Examples could include anything from formal courses, conferences or training programs to informal learning experiences of the applicant’s own design that helps advance the applicant's professional development and organization’s goals.

Since the launch of the Leadership Grants Program in 2006, the PwC Canada Foundation has awarded more than $1,800,000 in grants to over 500 recipients from across the country.
