You know that weird can of food. That one.
The one that you bought when you were at the grocery store because it was on sale and you thought you should try something new.
Or the one that expired a year ago taking up space and you don't want it?
Food banks don't want your weird or expired food any more than you do. Even if your intentions are great, please don't just give food banks the random contents of your kitchen.
Here is the list of what food banks do want.
When giving to a food bank, please make sure what you have is what they need.
And if you could also drop off your food with a cheque to help them cover the costs of safe storage, even better.
