Kimberley MacKenzieThis new series will share the amazing conversations that I am lucky enough to have with some incredibly inspiring and intelligent people at various fundraising conferences.  We will start with a podcast inspired by a chat I had with Canada’s own Penelope Burk at the AFP International conference in Baltimore, Maryland.

For those of you who do not know Penelope, she is the president of Cygnus Applied Research Inc. and author of Donor Centred Fundraising and Donor Centred Leadership.

Since 1997, Penelope has surveyed over 250,000 donors trying to find out what really motivates their giving. If anyone knows what will inspire donors to increase their generosity and remain loyal to your cause Penelope does.

During our conversation we talked about so many issues relevant to the charitable sector. Just click on the links below to hear, in Penelope’s own words, what she thinks about how stewarding donors fits in your development program.

We also talked about data management, leadership, fundraising education and what it truly means to be donor centred. These podcasts will be released in future issues.

This is a new format for eNEWS, so please indicate in the comments below or email me directly to let me know if you enjoyed listening and found the podcasts useful.
