When it comes to capturing contactless donations in our near-cashless society, there is no other solution like tiptap’s one-of-a-kind touchless giving™ technology. By delivering on the potential of our technology and maximizing contributions for our partners, we see tiptap as a unique extension of the charities and organizations we partner with. It is through these organizations where the story of tiptap is told.

One such example is Royal Botanical Gardens, the largest botanical garden in Canada. As a registered charitable organization, Royal Botanical Gardens welcomes tens of thousands of visitors each year. Throughout the pandemic, this visitor count grew as Canadians looked for new, safe activities to keep entertained amid ongoing lockdowns. With increased visitation demanding heightened trail upkeep, Royal Botanical Gardens required a solution that would encourage donations towards the maintenance and operating costs required for visitors to enjoy its trails free of charge, all year-round.

When Royal Botanical Gardens heard about tiptap’s touchless giving™ technology, it seemed the perfect opportunity! Having first implemented tiptap’s technology in June 2021, Royal Botanical Gardens now has five permanent, year-round devices placed at various trailheads to allow visitors to easily contribute. With tiptap’s devices being solar-powered and weather durable, Royal Botanical Gardens can secure the touchless, digital donations needed to maintain its trails without any additional hassle or work for its team members.

This is not Royal Botanical Gardens’ first foray into contactless donations. In the past, the organization used “text to donate” to accept donations from generous trail-goers, which required additional administrative steps and time. Once they implemented tiptap devices on their trails, however, there was no looking back.

“In one year of utilizing tiptap, we have likely tripled the amount of contributions that we previously received through text to donate,” said Carleigh Sladecek, Development Officer at Royal Botanical Gardens. “We attribute the jump in our donations to tiptap’s ease of use. With fixed contribution amounts and only one tap needed to donate, trail visitors can conveniently tap to give as they pass by.”

The insights provided by tiptap’s dashboard are particularly useful to Royal Botanical Gardens. Since implementing the devices in 2021, the organization can now make informed decisions about where to locate tiptap’s devices based on the most active locations and most common contribution amounts indicated on the dashboard. With tiptap devices entirely untethered, changing the location of a device can be done easily.

At the very heart of tiptap’s story are partners like these who allow our vision to come to life: helping those in need and the community-based organizations who are making it happen. Royal Botanical Gardens has harnessed the power of tiptap’s solution to flourish during the pandemic, opening the door for Canadians to experience nature and stay physically and mentally healthy.
