Green Shield Canada wants the nonprofit sector to know about
its Community Giving Program, which provides funding for programs that
further health and wellness in Canadian communities.
Green Shield's Community
Giving Program provides critical funding that community-based charitable organizations
need to achieve significant, concrete results. Building on a philosophy of making
health care accessible to all Canadians, Green Shield will contribute funds to
support work in the area of health and wellness, health education and social
services with an emphasis on programs that enable access to health and social
services for the most vulnerable members of our communities, such as those that
support:
- Families, youth or the aging population
- Physically, socially or geographically
disadvantaged populations
- Proactive disease prevention
- Measurable results for sustainable impact
The Green Shield
Community Giving Program is launched each year in February and funds are awarded
in June. Applications are available online starting February 1, 2012. The
application deadline is March 15, 2012.
