The COVID situation has spurred a lot of timely talk about mental health. While many of us already live with a mental illness, others of us may be experiencing concerns for the first time.  And even if you are doing ok, that doesn’t mean those you care about are doing ok.

Fortunately, Canada has a number of great charities well positioned to help. Here is where to get started for help.

CAMH | Mental Health and the COVID-19 Pandemic

This set of resources by CAMH includes how to talk to kids, family & friends as well as lonliness, stress, and anxiety. Includes a section on how to manage stress and anxiety while waiting for test results or if you test positive.

CHMA | COVID-19 and mental health

An extensive list of resources including links for help for you, for caregivers, parents of kids, plus links to your Provincial/Territorial health authority so that you have accurate information for your area.

LGBTQI

Extensive resources including resources for lesbians, gay men, youth, and transpeople. 

NEDIC | COVID-19 + ED

Hotline and text services for people with eating disorders. Also. NEDIC has teamed up with Canadian eating disorder experts to offer some of their preferred coping tools for the stress of the ongoing pandemic. Watch the ongoing video series!
